The Student module provides:

• Student Records - Personal information, contact details, documents
• Course Enrollment - Track students across courses and batches
• Parent Links - Connect students to parents/guardians
• Portal Access - Student self-service login

Quick Start

Add a new student

1. OpenEduCat > Students > Profile
2. Click Create
3. Fill name, contact, and personal details
4. Add to course and batch in Courses tab
5. Click Save

Key Concepts

Student vs Admission

Record Type	Purpose	Created By
Admission	Application under review	Applicant or Admin
Student	Enrolled person	Admin (after admission)

When you “Enroll” an admission, it creates a Student record.

Student Course Relationship

Students can be enrolled in multiple courses:

Student: John Doe
├── Course: BCS (Batch: BCS-2025-A)
│   └── Subjects: Data Structures, DBMS, OS
└── Course: Minor in Mathematics (Batch: MATH-2025)
    └── Subjects: Calculus, Linear Algebra

Each enrollment has:

• Course
• Batch
• Roll Number
• Academic Year/Term
• State (Running/Finished)

Registration Number (GR No)

Unique identifier for each student:

• Format configurable per institution
• Examples: “STU-2025-0001”, “GR/2025/CS/001”
• Used for certificates and documents

Student Workflow

New → Active → Alumni
       ↘ Withdrawn

Prerequisites

Before adding students:

• Course structure configured
• At least one Batch created
• (Optional) Categories defined
• (Optional) Parent portal enabled

User Permissions

Role	Can Do
Back Office User	View students, basic edits
Back Office Admin	Full CRUD, create users
Faculty	View students in their courses
Student	View own profile only
