Configure Courses

Set up course structures, evaluation types, and academic program settings for your institution.

Overview

Course configuration defines:

  • Academic program structure
  • Evaluation and grading methods
  • Subject organization
  • Batch/cohort management
  • Credit hour systems

Course Settings

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Configuration > Settings
  2. Select Course section
  3. Or access via OpenEduCat > Course > Courses

Configuring Grade Scales

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Configuration > Grade Scales
  2. Click Create
  3. Define scale:

Linking Grade Scale to Course

  1. Edit course record
  2. Select Grading Scale field
  3. Choose appropriate scale
  4. Save

Adding Subjects to Course

  1. Open course record
  2. Go to Subjects tab
  3. Click Add a line
  4. Select or create subjects
  5. Set semester/year placement
  6. Save

Batch Settings

Batch Configuration

Batches represent student cohorts within a course:

Creating Batch Templates

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Configuration > Batch Templates
  2. Define standard configurations
  3. Use templates when creating batches

  2. Click Create

Import/Export

Bulk Course Import

  1. Prepare CSV with columns:
    • Name, Code, Department, Duration, Evaluation Type
  2. Go to OpenEduCat > Course > Import
  3. Upload CSV file
  4. Map columns
  5. Import

Export Course Data

  1. Select courses in list view
  2. Click Action > Export
  3. Choose fields to export
  4. Download file
