Configure classroom resources, facilities, and room types for effective scheduling and resource management.

Overview

The Classroom Setup allows you to:

  • Define physical room locations
  • Specify room capacities and features
  • Categorize rooms by type (lecture hall, lab, etc.)
  • Track room availability for scheduling
  • Manage room assets and equipment

Creating Classrooms

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Facility > Classrooms
  2. Click Create

Save the Classroom

Click Save to create the classroom record.

Creating Custom Room Types

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Configuration > Room Types
  2. Click Create
  3. Enter type name and description
  4. Save

Adding Facilities to Rooms

  1. Edit the classroom record
  2. In Features section, add applicable facilities
  3. Save changes

Bulk Facility Assignment

For multiple rooms:

  1. Select rooms in list view (checkboxes)
  2. Click Action > Add Facilities
  3. Choose facilities to add
  4. Confirm

The classroom setup integrates with the Timetable module:

Linking to Sessions

When creating timetable sessions:

  1. Select Classroom field
  2. Choose from available rooms
  3. System checks for conflicts
  4. Confirms booking on save

  1. Go to OpenEduCat > Reports > Room Utilization
  2. Select date range
  3. View occupancy statistics

Setting Maintenance Periods

  1. Edit classroom record
  2. Set status to “Under Maintenance”
