Create Course Content

Build engaging online course content with multimedia lessons, activities, and resources.

Time required: 30-60 minutes per module

Prerequisites

• LMS course created
• Content materials prepared
• Faculty or LMS Manager role

Steps

Step 1: Open Course

1. Go to OpenEduCat -> LMS -> Courses
2. Select your course
3. Go to Modules tab

Step 2: Create Module

1. Click Add a line
2. Enter module details:

Sequence	Yes	Display order	1
Description	No	Module overview	”Learn the basics…”

Step 3: Add Lessons

For each module, create lessons:

1. Open module
2. Go to Lessons tab
3. Click Create Lesson

• Keep videos 5-15 minutes
• Include chapter markers
• Add closed captions

Text Content

Interactive Content

• Include knowledge checks
• Add discussion prompts
• Create practice exercises
• Use varied activities

3. Select required lessons
4. Student must complete first

Add supporting resources:

1. Go to course Resources tab
2. Click Add Resource
3. Upload files:
   • Reading materials
   • Reference documents
   • Practice files
   • External links

Content Preview

Test your content:

1. Click Preview
2. View as student
3. Check all media loads
4. Verify navigation

Publishing Content

Make content available:

1. Review all modules and lessons
2. Set correct sequence
3. Click Publish
4. Content visible to enrolled students

Troubleshooting

Video not playing

Check:

• URL is correct
• Video is public/accessible
• Supported format (MP4)
• Browser compatibility

Content not displaying

Verify:

• Content is published
• Student is enrolled
• Prerequisites completed
