Manage Student Suspensions
Track and manage student suspensions resulting from disciplinary actions.
Time required: 5-10 minutes
Prerequisites
- Discipline Manager role
- Discipline record exists
- Incident reviewed
Creating a Suspension
Via Take Action Wizard
- Open discipline record in “Awaiting Meeting” state
- Click Take Action button
- In the wizard:

| Fine | No | Optional fine amount |
- Click Submit
Suspension Record Created
The system automatically:
- Creates
suspended.studentrecord - Links to discipline record
- Sends suspension email notification
- Updates discipline state
View Suspended Students
- Go to OpenEduCat → Discipline → Suspended Students
- View active suspensions

Email Notification
Suspension email includes:
- Student name
- Suspension dates
- Reason for suspension
- Institution contact
Combined Actions
The Take Action wizard supports:
- Fine only: Creates invoice
- Suspend only: Creates suspension
- Fine + Suspend: Creates both
- No action: Marks as done
Reports
View Suspension History
- Go to Discipline → Reports
- Select Student Wise report
- Filter by student and date range
- View all discipline records including suspensions
Troubleshooting
”To date must be after from date”
Suspension end date must be later than start date.
Suspension email not sent
Check:
- Email template is configured
- Student has email address
- SMTP settings are correct
Cannot create suspension
Verify:
- Discipline is in correct state
- You have manager permissions
- Required dates are filled
